A wooden deck either as load bearing & strengthening element of the vessel, or as a decorative cover is the area that adorns, highlights and enhances the shape lines of the vessel. Combined with handrails, ladders and other wooden elements a wooden deck lends friendliness and warmth.

Due to the high cost of construction and the ever decreasing availability of the favorite teak wood, great importance is given to the longevity of such decks.
